Who said makeup isn’t an art form?

Makeup isn’t just a great way to look your best; it can be a really amazing form of artistic expression as well (after all, why do you think they call them “makeup artists”?) With this in mind, Burt’s Bees, along with marketing agency BrandFire, has taken the art of makeup to the next level with their new “Shades” art show. Showing until March 11 in Toronto’s Distillery District, the exhibit features pieces by 10 different artists, all using Burt’s Bees’ new line of lipstick colours.

Though more widely known for its all-natural lip balms, the event showcases the brand’s wide selection of products and colours, with each piece speaking to the impressive performance of the lipsticks. The art show is part of a larger #LipstickThatLovesYouBack social media campaign.

We thought this was a really creative, unexpected way to use colour and art to launch a product and change public perceptions on the ways in which the product can be used. Great job, Burt’s Bees!
